Otaku Connect: 祭り
We experienced the vibrant fusion of modern otaku culture and traditional Japanese festivities. Thank you for an unforgettable celebration!
A Legacy of Culture
Over the past four years, Otaku Connect has brought the excitement of anime and Asian pop culture to major Nigerian cities. Otaku Connect Matsuri was our biggest yet.
Attendees enjoyed a variety of African and Asian cuisine, vibrant cosplays, and an impressive lineup of activities. From console and VR games to anime-themed charades and intense ramen-eating competitions, the energy was unmatched.
Featuring internet personalities and live band performances, we celebrated community, creativity, and culture together.

The Matsuri Experience
Last year's edition was themed "Matsuri — The People’s Festival," bringing the traditional Japanese festival spirit to life.
Held across two massive weekends in Abuja (Doxa Park) and Lagos (MUSON Centre), we transformed the venues into a carnival of lights and sound.
Highlights included our spectacular lantern display, bustling street food stalls serving authentic treats, the Kimono Runway, and a grand Cosplay Showcase. The night culminated in a breathtaking display of fireworks, truly capturing the essence of a summer Matsuri.
