Our Journey: From Passion to Platform
OtakuTV began in 2019 as a WhatsApp TV channel, born out of a passion to connect anime and manga lovers across Africa. It started as a personal initiative and later grew into something bigger under Arkronin Limited.
Over time, it became clearer there was a gap: fans had the passion, but lacked spaces to express it or connect beyond small pockets. That’s where OtakuTV came in, first through online community-building, then through live experiences.
Our signature “Otaku Connect” events became proof of concept, growing organically with every edition. We’ve now hosted 9+ successful gatherings across 3 Nigerian states, each bringing together fans, creators, and brands under one roof.
Today, OtakuTV is more than a platform, it' a growing hub for African fans of Japanese pop culture to express themselves, discover community, and be seen.
